An Indie Author Celebrates Independence Day

What better way to celebrate July 4th than by reading a book set during the American Revolution? InD’Tale Magazine gave Love’s Courage a 5 star review, calling it “breathless.” In celebration of Independence Day in the United States, I have a firecracker of a giveaway. Because we’re celebrating July 4th, I’m giving away 4 of each of the three prizes for 12 lucky winners!

If, by chance you don’t win—or you can’t wait, you can read Love’s Courage now.

Love’s Courage blurb:

She had to leave him to save her father.

He had to follow her to save his heart.

When Jenny Sutton arrives in British-occupied Manhattan to tend to her dying father, she finds herself entangled in the Patriot spy network—and on the verge of being hanged as a spy.

The marriage proposal of a British officer is her only hope of escaping the gallows, but it presents Jenny with a devil’s bargain: if she accepts the proposal and lives, she’ll be separated from Andrew—the man she loves but thought she’d left behind forever when she went to her father.

Desperate to join and protect his beloved Jenny, Andrew Wentworth agrees to deliver messages to the Patriot troops on his journey to New York. When he finally reaches Jenny, he’s shattered to learn of her engagement…but channels his despair into determination and vows to fight to the death for the Patriot cause.

As the devastation and heartbreak of war rages around them, Jenny and Andrew must find the courage to fight for their new country’s freedom—and their own eternal love.

WOW! Just saw my name as one of the lucky winners of your giveaway. Don’t know yet what I won…can’t wait to find out! Congratulations to all the other lucky winners.

Although we don’t celebrate the 4th of July in Australia, I’ll be raising a Budweiser to toast our mates in the USA!

  3. Elizabeth Meyette says:

I feel so badly for pets during the fireworks. Once I had a dog that would jump into the bathtub and shake the whole time. Hope you find some peace this July 4, Candy.

  4. Candy Voisine says:

I’m hoping to spend my 4th of July very quietly. I don’t think it will happen because I live very close to where they set off the fireworks and the dogs go nuts because of the noise.

  5. Dianne Casey says:

I plan on cooking out with neighbors and watching the fireworks. I have a great view of the best fireworks in the area from my bedroom window, so I’ll be watching them from home.

I expect we’ll have a low-key 4th… we’ll probably still be recuperating from my sons graduation party that is happening on the 1st!

July 4th is on a Wednesday, so we both work, but will be having a BBQ the following weekend.Hopefully the weather is nice so the family can swim while i cook!!

It’s always confusing when July 4 lands on a Wednesday, isn’t it, Kim? Which weekend do you choose for BBQs and fireworks?? We opted for this weekend, so we’ll have our annual Meyette reunion on Saturday and our traditional fish fry on Sunday. Oh, and then there’s our traditional poker game LOL

I’ll be staying home for the 4th of July. I don’t have a car to the parade or fireworks. But I can see some of them from my apt. Couple of yrs ago my daughter and I would pack the van with the lawn chairs, a full cooler. And we go to the parade and meet up with my brothers, nieces, nephews. And spend the day. Then we would all watch the fireworks. It was like a mini reunion. And then one year we went and no one showed up. Families moved away, and forgot how one day brings us together to remember how we got here. How sad.

    • Elizabeth Meyette says:

Yes, as families grow and move on, we often lose touch. You made some wonderful memories together, Brenda. I hope you enjoy a restful July 4th.

    • Elizabeth Meyette says:

Sounds like you go all-out for Independence Day, Heather! Nothing like a cookout for July 4th. I can smell the hots and hamburgers already 🙂

  9. Anne Stone says:

I highly encourage people to enter this contest. I just finished this book and thoroughly enjoyed it! An excellent read for this Independence Day holiday!

  10. Lori Smanski says:

A generous give a way. Thank you. We will all be going to my fathers place for fun and bbq. This will most likely be dads last 4th of July. So we will make it his best.

    • Elizabeth Meyette says:

How thoughtful you are of your father. I’m sure being surrounded by his family will mean so much to him, Lori.

    • Elizabeth Meyette says:

Oh no! The fireworks can be very disturbing to pets. Maybe show them some cat videos on Facebook. Happy 4th, Audrey!

  11. Judy Cox says:

We always grill and shoot off fireworks with the family at my son’s house. The grandchildren really have a good time swimming and playing all day long!!!

  12. Karen H says:

I’m pretty much a stay-at-home person when it comes to holidays. I don’t do crowds and high traffic that well anymore so I’ll be staying inside in the A/C and reading or watching the fireworks on TV.
