The Go to Sleep Tree Has Arrived

Don’t you love to check things off your to-do list? Sometimes I’ll write down a task I’ve finished that wasn’t included on my list just so I can check it off, or even better, cross it out. There’s such a feeling of accomplishment when that list is completed.

My friend, author Patricia Kiyono, showed me the Reminders app on my phone. The tasks actually disappear when you check them off! Did I just hear the angels sing?

So, when I have a task or project that keeps getting carried over and missing deadlines, I get a bit grumpy. Some might say surly.

One of my projects that has taken a very loooooong time is my children’s book, The Go to Sleep Tree. I am so happy to announce my book is finally available in paperback, hardcover, and digital editions!!! (digital on Amazon only)

The adorable illustrations were created by artist Meghan Melotik.

BLURB:

Sam cannot go to sleep until he discovers the magic of The Go to Sleep Tree.

Six-year-old Sam cannot go to sleep because he is worried. He worries about the bully at school, he worries about the big dog down the street, and most of all, he worries that everyone in his family will fall asleep before he does. Sam is afraid that he will be alone and awake in the middle of the night. Then Sam discovers the power of The Go to Sleep Tree.

This picture book offers a pathway to discussion about children’s fears, especially around bedtime. A gentle bedtime story ideal for a fall-asleep snuggle time.

You can order your copy at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or your local independent bookstore (please support them!).

With the crazy year Rich and I have had, I’ve used The Go to Sleep Tree method a few times myself when wide-awake worries had me staring at the ceiling.

What a wonderful feeling to hold in my hand this book that has lived in my heart for 10 years. And now I can share it with you.

Leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite children’s book was/is.

I just received a call from Harper who was excited about her signed copy of this book! I’d love to know about classroom or school visits.
