Congratulations to Deb H,, winner of one of my Kindle books. Thanks for leaving a comment on my Halloween blog, Deb.

Thank you!!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner (can you believe it?) When I think of all that I am thankful for, I will certainly be thinking of you, my readers, and my supporters. Thanks to all of you for sharing my writing journey.

Cover Reveal

Some of you have joined me recently, and some have been with me from the beginning when my first novel was published. I have been working on revising my first book, and I’m excited to share the updated cover of my historical romance, Love’s Destiny! Here it is:

Love's Destiny, an American historical romance. Book 1 in The Brentwood Saga.

Not only has the cover been updated, but I have also revised the book extensively. For those of you who have read it, the plot is the same, but the relationship between Emily and Jonathon is quite different. It’s more of a “slow burn” than a “hidden romance.”

She’s loyal to the crown. He sides with the colonies. With a new world beckoning, will they find common ground to merge their hearts?

1775. Emily Wentworth enjoys her independence. So after her father’s passing, the almost eighteen-year-old grows furious when an old gent from Virginia is appointed her guardian. But though the dashing captain proves far younger than she expected, she resents him moving her and her brother away from London and across the ocean.

Jonathon Brentwood will always honor his word. Believing his wards are mere children, he’s surprised by the lovely young woman who becomes an unwanted temptation on his ship. And when a kiss shows him the violet-eyed beauty could complicate his life’s mission of pursuing colonial liberty, he arrives back in the Americas determined to marry her off.

Despite Emily’s burgeoning interest in the handsome rebel, she does her best to disentangle herself and accepts the attentions of a local suitor. While Jonathon’s involvement in the fight for freedom vies against his charge’s British allegiance and he fears any future between them will never be possible…

Will the danger of a rising revolution and opposing desires keep them apart forever?

Love’s Destiny is the dramatic first book in The Brentwood Saga historical romance series. If you like headstrong heroines, courageously intense heroes, and bringing the past to life, then you’ll adore Elizabeth Meyette’s slow-burn courtship.

Blurb:

As she descended the curving staircase, a tall figure with broad shoulders studied the portrait of her mother. The man’s hands were clasped behind his back, his black tricorn dangling from his fingers. The candle beside the door cast a warm glow over his rich, dark brown hair. Hearing her, he looked up, glanced back at the portrait, then back at her. Surprise flickered across his face, quickly replaced by a lazy, engaging smile.

“So, you are Little Em,” he drawled.

Emily froze mid-step, grasping the banister to maintain her balance. This was her father’s friend? His dark blue longcoat and cream-colored breeches enhanced his tall, lean figure. Broad shoulders and brown wavy hair tied back at the nape of his neck completed the picture of a strikingly attractive man.

A strange tingle ran through her body. None of the young men who had led her in the ballroom ever elicited this shiver of pleasure despite their nearness as they danced. She reached the bottom of the stairs and looked up into his warm, brown eyes as she extended her hand.

“Captain Brentwood? I am pleased to meet you.” She abhorred the tremble in her voice.

Hi Elizabeth! I wanted to thank you for the new addition to my Kindle. I now have “Invisible Pursuit” to read when my eyes clear up from having cataract surgery. I have found myself stuck in one or two genres of late. My goal~ambition~for 2023 is to change my reading habits. I think reading other genres will help me with my own writing. I am adding your books to the list of authors for the year. I hope your holidays are fantastic. Your new cover looks great. And once again, thank you for the new book.

Thank you, Deb! I hope your recovery goes well and you are back at the keyboard soon. I get stuck in one genre sometimes – especially Louise Penny’s mysteries with Inspector Gamache! What a great goal for 2023! I hope you enjoy Invisible Pursuit. Happy Thanksgiving!
