LOVE’S DESTINY will Melt Your Heart

Today is the DAY! Love’s Destiny is now available on Kindle. The paperback edition will follow in March. I enjoyed revisiting Jonathon and Emily’s love story. I’ve revised it substantially from the first edition, and the cover, created by Best Page Forward, is stunning! Read it now

She’s loyal to the crown. He sides with the colonies. With a new world beckoning, will they find common ground to merge their hearts?

As she descended the curving staircase, a man studied the portrait of her mother. Even from here, she could see he was much younger than her father. The man’s hands were clasped behind his back, his black tricorn dangled from his fingers. The candle beside the door cast a warm glow over his rich, dark brown hair. Hearing her, he looked up, glanced back at the portrait, then back at her. Surprise flickered across his face, quickly replaced by a lazy, engaging smile.

“So, you are Little Em,” he drawled.

Emily froze mid-step, grasping the banister to maintain her balance. This was her father’s friend? His dark blue longcoat and cream-colored breeches enhanced his tall, lean figure. Broad shoulders and brown wavy hair tied back at the nape of his neck completed the picture of a strikingly attractive man.

A strange tingle ran through her body. None of the young men who had led her in the ballroom ever elicited this shiver of pleasure despite their nearness as they danced. She reached the bottom of the stairs and looked up into his warm, brown eyes as she extended her hand.

“Captain Brentwood? I am pleased to meet you.” She abhorred the tremble in her voice.

Jonathon smiled to hide his surprise. It was as if the portrait he had been studying had come to life and descended the staircase. The only difference was the eyes. The woman in the portrait had soft blue eyes, the color of a calm sea near shore. Eyes that held the wisdom of years, though she was not old. The young woman descending the staircase had startling violet-blue eyes, the color of the sea at dusk, less worldly, but with a hint of, what, defiance? His initial reluctance for this responsibility ebbed as a sudden desire to learn more about her grew.

No, this was not the “Little Em” George had told him about. The graceful way she held herself, her neck arcing just enough to let the curl tickle alongside it, begged admiration. He fought the urge to peruse her form, slender yet shapely in a most delightful way.

If you like headstrong heroines, courageously intense heroes, and bringing the past to life, then you’ll love this historical romance. Sensuous and suspenseful, it will keep you turning pages.

Love’s Destiny (The Brentwood Saga Book 1) by Elizabeth Meyette is a beautifully written historical novel full of heartwarming interactions between the characters and just enough intrigue to keep the pages turning.

I recommend this book to fans of romance and historical fiction. I believe you will enjoy it!”
