Love’s Spirit: Book Two in The Brentwood Saga

Ultimatums, blackmail, and war.

Virginia, 1776.

Emily Brentwood feels guilty and horribly alone. Newly married and pregnant, she is certain her actions have led to her patriot husband’s death. When her beloved returns from the grave, she’s determined never to let him go again… even if it means facing down the entire British Army.

Jonathon Brentwood longs for a fresh start with his bride. But after a jilted former lover threatens everything he holds dear, the honorable sea captain learns you can’t escape the past. And while he takes desperate action to preserve their growing family, he fears his brave wife will see it as an unforgivable betrayal.

Emily is stunned when Jonathon’s choices careen into their fragile peace, threatening their marriage. As Jonathon struggles to hold to his code of honor, he exposes himself to an enemy with a fatal vendetta.

    Hi Elizabeth,
The ‘Contact Me’ part of your website displays a critical error when clicked on, so I had to resort to this.

I live in Watkins Glen, NY. The apartment complex here is on land that was once part of the grounds of the old Glen Springs Hotel. A short distance away is a historic old home that was once either part of the Glen Springs complex or was at least contemporary to it. It appears in old advertisements and such for the Glen Springs. This house is now in a dilapidated state. A number of years ago, it appeared as if someone was going to restore it, but very little was done and then perhaps plans fell through, because it has been sitting idle since.

A couple of years ago, I was walking past the house and decided to take some photos with my cell phone. When I got home and went through the photos that I had taken, one photo stood out. In the lower right-hand corner of an upstairs window, a gold object appears. It did not show up in any of the other photos and it was also not visible to the naked eye when the photo was taken.

With your interest in the Finger Lakes, and the stories that you have written, I thought you might like to see the photos.

    Sincerely,

    David Baltzer

      Hi David,
Thanks for the heads-up on my Contact form.

Wow!That photo sounds intriguing. I’d love to see it! I just looked up old photos of the Glen Springs Hotel. It was quite the place! Thanks for reaching out. We hope to get to the Finger Lakes Region in the summer of 2026 to do some author events. I’m contacting libraries and book stores in the area. If you have any suggestions, send them along.

      Warm regards
      Elizabeth
